Health and safety performance - combined employees and contractors

The Total Injury Frequency Rate (TIFR) for employees and contractors combined decreased from 3.6 to 3.3 in FY20. The Occupational Injury Frequency Rate (OIFR) increased from 0.5 to 0.9.

Notes

  • TIFR: number of Lost Time and Medical Treatment Injuries classified as TIFR-related in a 12 month rolling period, per million hours worked in that 12 month period.

  • OIFR: number of Lost Time and Medical Treatment Injuries classified as OIFR-related in a 12 month rolling period, per million hours worked in that 12 month period.

  • LTIFR: number of Lost Time Injuries classified as both TIFR and OIFR in a 12 month rolling period, per million hours worked in that 12 month period.

  • Data covers contractors working on behalf of AGL on both AGL sites and non AGL sites.

  • The number of hours worked used as a basis for calculating TIFR, LTIFR and OIFR was 13,751,456 (FY19: 11,889,020)

  • FY20 data does not include the safety performance of contractors engaged by or employees of Southern Phone Company and Perth Energy as they were not fully integrated into AGL's HSE reporting systems as at 30 June 2020.
